Join Voice of Gbewaa host Yawuza Alhassan for an exploration of the African diaspora that begins with the traditions of his home community in Northern Ghana. A Ghanaian dancer, musician, researcher, and educator, Yawuza Alhassan, is the director of the Wuza Wuza Ensemble and the Wuzaland Cultural Center. Regarded as one of Ghana’s preeminent cultural representatives, Yawuza is respected for his knowledge of Ghana’s regional, linguistic and cultural diversity as reflected via the arts. He has traveled widely throughout the African subcontinent and now makes his home in the Bronx, NY where he is committed to perpetuating Ghanaian traditions within the African diaspora.
