Mesita de la Memoria # 3

This month’s episode features Ranwa Yehia, the co-founder of the Arab Digital Expression Foundation (ADEF), which started in 2005 with a mission to explore and develop alternative education methodologies and knowledge production for and by Arab youth, using open source concepts and tools. A key project she conceived with ADEF is the Arab Digital Expression Camps, an annual experiential co-learning camp for Arab youth, developed and implemented in collaboration with young techies, artists, journalists and researchers in the region. ADEC has been running annually since 2007 and has been implemented in Egypt, Tunisia and Lebanon. In 2020, Yehia established Arab Digital Expression Berlin e. V and has since been engaged in many collaborative programs and projects with ADEF Network. Since June 2024, Ranwa is Director of ADEF Network which seeks to build deeper layers among its many communities across the world. Ranwa is currently expanding ADEF’s work in Lebanon and plans to give focus on her home country for the next five years.
